Blankets

Chevron Baby Blanket

Now that I am pregnant with a baby girl, I love making baby stuff! The baby is due in the summer, so I wanted to make a light and airy blanket for the first few weeks. I choose a light weight yarn,  but you can make this blanket with any kind you like. Just be sure to make a swatch to figure out the size.

This is what you’ll need:

  • DK weight yarn. I used Stylecraft Special DK, colors Cream and Soft Peach
  • Crochet hook 6mm

Stitch abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • st = stitch
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • hdc2tog = half double crochet 2 stitches together

Start with a multiple of 19+2. (I started with ch135)1: Start with 3rd ch from hook: hdc2tog, 1hdc in the next 7ch, 3hdc in the next st* 1hdc in the next 8st, skip 2st, 1hdc in the next 8st, 3hdc in the next st * repeat across until the last 9ch1hdc in the next 7ch, hdc2og, ch2 and turn2 – 4: hdc2tog, 1hdc in the next 7st, 3hdc in the next st, * 1hdc in the next 8st, skip 2 st, 1hdc in the next 8st, 3hdc in the next st * repeat until last side, 1hdc in the next 7st, hdc2tog, ch2 and turnSwitch colors after every fourth row, like this:
