This is what you’ll need:
- 9 skeins of Yarn and Colors Epic, color: soft grey
- 5mm Crochet hook
- ch = chain
- st = stitch/stitches
- dc = double crochet
- If you use the same yarn and hook as I did, your blanket will be 75cm x 85cm (29.5inch x 33.5inch)
- This is a filet crochet pattern. If you don’t know how it works, just read on, and if you do, go ahead and use the filet chart right away.
How to read this chart:
Every little white square counts as ‘2dc’. Every little black square, counts as ‘ch2, skip 2st’. Which means that every square is 2st
You can see that the rows are numbered. The bottom counts 57, which means you have to start with double the amount of ch (because every square is 2st). So, you’ll start chaining 114+3 (3 for the turning ch)Than go on to the first row, which is all dc, because all the squares are white: 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each st to end, ch3 and turn (114)Now, the second row has white and black alternating squares. So the second row goes like this: * 1dc in the next 2st, ch2-skip 2st * repeat to end. Ch3 and turn (114)Third row: 1dc in each st to end, ch3 and turn (114)Fourth row: 1dc in the next 2st, ch2-skip 2st, 1dc in the next 106st, ch2-skip 2st, 1dc in the last 2st, ch3 and turn (114)You can probably read the rest on your own now and if you have any question, just let me know at the bottom of this pageThis is what I did for the edging, to create a little bit of ruffle, but keeping it very simple: 3sc around every dc stitch on both sides and at top and bottom I alternated 1sc, 2sc in every st. And in every corner stitch I did 3sc
